JUST-EAT TOPS THE BOARD FOR UK ONLINE RESTAURANT VISITS

Just-Eat, the UK’s largest online takeaway delivery provider, has overtaken Dominos.co.uk to be named as the UK’s most popular Food and Beverage website after it received more web visitors via Google than any other site in the sector in the five month period finishing February 2012. Over 20 million visits were made to the site in that time to order from one of the 10,000 restaurants signed up to Just-Eat across the UK.
The position, determined by monitoring from Experian Hitwise, the online competitive intelligence service, underlines Just-Eat’s status as the leader in a food ordering revolution as more and more people order takeaway online. It comes soon after Google Zeitgeist identified Just-Eat as the second fastest growing food and drink brand in the world, behind only Wendy’s, and the only UK company in the Top Ten.
David Buttress, Managing Director for Just-Eat UK and Ireland, said “The British public is going online to gets its food, but they still want to have it made and delivered by the local restaurants they know and love. That’s why we’re so successful, and now the number one online food brand in the UK – we let people order online locally, so that they aren’t just restricted to a few faceless chains.”
Just-Eat currently partners with over 10,000 restaurants in the UK, providing them with a secure e-commerce platform from which their customers can order takeaway. As well as the UK, Just-Eat operates in 13 other countries, including Brazil, France and India.
