Just-Eat.com is Europe’s biggest online ordering service for takeaway food. We have operations in seven countries and are expanding to more markets this year. Just-Eat is about making it easy for customers to order online from local takeaway and restaurants that deliver in their area. Currently more than 8,000 restaurants across our network handle over 2 million meals monthly through the Just-Eat systems.

As a rapidly growing organization we are looking to expand our focus on delivering the very best experience for our customers and partners. We do this through a feature-rich .NET web platform and our patented Just-Connect terminals.

A passion for the web:

We are looking for passionate and experienced Systems Administrators manage our current platform and evolve it to the next level. Successful candidates will become an integral part of our Technology team and report to the Technical Operations Manager.

We expect you have:

  • Significant experience in hosting and operating e-commerce web applications and services. Exposure to order management, provisioning, fulfilment and payment processing systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience in working with busy transactional websites. You must be an expert on delivering high availability, load balancing and performance tuning.
  • Strong skills in operational/production investigation, debugging and problem resolution.
  • In depth expertise in all aspects of Windows 2003 and 2008 systems administration.
  • Excellent understanding of DFS, AD, IIS 6 & 7, SQL Server 2005 & 8
  • Strong experience with TCP/IP, DNS, WINS and DHCP.
  • Total familiarity with system installation and configuration, security management, software installation patching and upgrading.
  • Significant scripting and automation skills desired, Powershell/Ruby+rake/shell scripting expertise would be advantageous
  • Intimate familiarity with configuring and running monitoring tools such as Cacti and Nagios.
  • Extensive clustering and mirroring experience.
  • Virtualisation experience. Exposure to VMWare and Cloud Computing is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the project lifecycle and the application development lifecycle.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with QA and Development to deliver software, ensuring each role has tools and environments available as needed.
  • Strong configuration management experience.
  • A structured and open approach to your work and a great eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for the Web and the commercial opportunities it presents.
  • An outgoing personality and a can-do attitude.
  • Minimum 4-6 years previous experience required. But the key is talent, passion and a willingness to learn and expand your horizons.
