Just-Eat.com is Europe’s biggest online ordering service for takeaway food. We have operations in seven countries and are expanding to more markets this year. Just-Eat is about making it easy for customers to order online from local takeaway and restaurants that deliver in their area. Currently more than 9,000 restaurants across our network handle over 2 million meals monthly through the Just-Eat systems.

As a rapidly growing organization we are looking to expand our focus on delivering the very best experience for our customers and partners . We do this through a feature-rich .NET web platform and our patented Just-Connect terminals.

A passion for the web

We are looking for passionate and experienced .NET Developers and Senior Developers to join us in creating and enhancing our current web proposition – and to take it to the next level. Successful candidates will become an integral part of our Development team and will focus on evolving the architecture and implementation of our UK and European services. You will report to the Head of Development.

We expect you to have all or most of these:

• Strong .NET and related software engineering skills: C#, SQL Server, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, Visual Studio, object orientation, component-based design, domain-driven design and software patterns. Other skills of interest include MVC, WPF, WCF, WF, web services (SOAP, REST), LINQ, HTML, CSS, XML and JavaScript.
• Solid experience in designing, implementing and deploying e-commerce applications and services.
• Experience working with busy transactional websites. Familiarity with high availability, load balancing and performance tuning.
• Direct experience re-architecting, reengineering and refactoring deployed, commercial systems; brownfield development, legacy transformation.
• Excellent analysis and problem solving skills; a structured and open approach to your work and a great eye for detail.
• Strong communication, collaboration and business-facing skills.
• Team leadership, management and/or mentoring experience.
• A passion for the Web and the commercial opportunities it presents.
• An outgoing personality and a can-do attitude.
• Substantial exposure to Agile and related practices, methods and tools: automated regression testing (including unit testing), continuous integration, TDD, pair programming and Scrum.
• Hands-on experience with several of the following opensource and ALT.NET tools: SVN, NUnit, ReSharper, Rhino Mocks, Watin, Fitnesse, TeamCity, FxCop, NCover, NDepend, Nant and NHibernate.
• Experience building order management, provisioning, fulfillment and payment processing (PCI) systems.
• Exposure to software configuration management, issue management and build management.
