First-of-its-kind delivery deal sees unprecedented expansion of KFC delivery with Menulog

The partnership will see the number of KFC restaurants available on Menulog rise by almost 10% by the end of the year

Menulog, part of the Just Eat Group, has today announced a new three-year deal to bring KFC delivery to more Australians than ever, in metro, suburban and regional areas across the country.

In a first-of-its-kind extended partnership, Menulog and KFC will continue to build on the success of the businesses’ initial 12-month agreement, which has seen more than 360 KFC restaurants launch delivery with Menulog and helped expand its delivery capabilities and drive an increase in online orders.

The new partnership will see the number of KFC restaurants available on Menulog rise by almost 10% by the end of the end of 2019, as the Menulog Delivery Service continues to expand into more regional locations, providing more choice for millions of Australians to order favourites such KFC’s famous Zinger Box, Wicked Wings and popcorn chicken.

With Menulog delivery currently live for KFC restaurants across greater Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra and the Gold Coast, as well as areas such as Newcastle, Wollongong, Port Kembla, Albury, Bendigo and Ballarat, millions of customers can now have their favourite Kentucky Fried Chicken meals delivered, in many areas, for the first time.

The ongoing expansion of the Menulog Delivery Service, which reached national scale in April 2019, has allowed for the greater-ever number of KFC restaurants available for delivery, boosting KFC orders through the Menulog platform by more than 107%.

KFC Australia Managing Director, Nikki Lawson said:

“This is an exciting announcement on our continued partnership. We work very closely with our delivery partners to ensure as many KFC fans as possible can enjoy our delicious Kentucky Fried Chicken. We’re always looking for ways to ensure customers can receive their meals quickly and conveniently. Our continued partnership with Menulog will help us keep bringing freshly-prepared KFC meal delivery options across the country, especially in suburban and regional areas.”

Menulog Managing Director, Ben Carter, said:

“We’re extremely proud of our close working partnership with KFC and the tremendous success hundreds of KFC restaurants have seen with the launch of Menulog delivery. As we continue to scale our delivery offering at pace, we look forward to continuing to support the KFC community of franchisees to drive incremental growth for their businesses, whilst providing greater choice of the food people love in more areas across Australia”.

Strong results have been driven in-part by a string of highly successful co-marketing campaigns, including the two brands’ latest ‘Trick or Treat’ deliveries for Halloween. Leveraging KFC’s well-known brand personality and Menulog’s world-class delivery logistics, integrated teams delivered a ‘Hallo-weekend’ long promotion that drove a 25% increase in orders week on week.

Carter added:

“With a huge customer database and a network that reaches more than 87% of the addressable population, Menulog’s marketing capabilities are one of the biggest benefits to our partners. Kentucky Fried Chicken is a favourite with our customers and so there is a very compelling co-marketing opportunity that we will continue to take advantage of over the next three years. Customers can expect to see some very exciting, creative and truly integrated work that will add value and enjoyment to the KFC and Menulog delivery experience”.
