Just Eat France celebrates first ever French Takeaway Awards

Les Awards de la Restauration Livrée, organised in partnership with Just Eat France, rewarded 14 restaurants across the country.

The first ever French Takeaway Awards took place this year with nearly 10,000 people voting for their favourite takeaway restaurant. Twins Pizza, a restaurant in Dijon, won the first ever national award for "Best French Takeaway" at Les Awards de la Restauration Livrée and was recognised for the quality and originality of its menu at a prestigious ceremony which took place in Paris on November 5th.

Gilles Raison, Country Manager Just Eat France, said: “We’re really proud to sponsor the first-ever national takeaway awards in France. Recognising local restaurant partners who’ve made huge contributions to the local economy really is a privilege. Every year, we work with hundreds of new restaurant partners to help them grow their business, and as the sector leader, over 7,000 restaurants have trusted us to help them deliver over 10M meals to customers all across France in the last year alone.”

Altogether,14 restaurants across the country, including Twins Pizza, received the “best takeaway” award for their regions..

As part of the awards, customers across France also voted for their favorite takeaway dishes. With more than 27% of the votes, Japanese food won top place. This was followed by pizza with 22% and burgers, which received more than 20% of the votes.

The takeaway market in France continues to evolve with more than 700,000 meals being delivered every day across the country. Restaurant owners who offer online ordering and home delivery services with Just Eat France contribute € 208 million to the French GDP.
