Just Eat plc acquires

Just Eat plc, the world’s largest online and mobile marketplace for takeaway food operating in 13 countries across the globe today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Just Eat has relationships with over 1,500 restaurants in Ireland and continues to add almost 40 restaurants to the platform each month. The acquisition of further consolidates Just Eat’s leadership position in the market.

Commenting on the acquisition Amanda Roche Kelly, Managing Director of Just Eat Ireland, said:

“Over the past year we have enjoyed significant growth as we continue to partner with new restaurants and attract more consumers to the Just Eat platform. The deal announced today with allows us to grow share at a much faster pace and solidifies our leadership in the sector.

“Typically our larger clients are now getting 30% of their orders via the Just Eat app or website each week – delivering significant additional revenue to their business. We look forward to delivering similar benefits to’s restaurants – bringing even more value to their business. We are also looking forward to offering our consumers increased diversity and range of cuisine as we add new restaurants to our service.”

Just Eat provides an online ordering service for over 1,500 Irish restaurants and is processing an average of 45,000 orders per week. has 250 restaurant clients, with approximately 75% also listed with Just Eat. As a result of the acquisition, customers who previously may have ordered with will be redirected to Just Eat with all services provided under the Just Eat brand with immediate effect.
