SkiptheDishes Celebrates Super Bowl with Jon Hamm’s Smart Home

First-ever Super Bowl commercial culminates popular ‘Entitled’ creative-campaign from Canada’s leading food delivery platform

Sports fans tuning in to the 53rd edition of the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 3rd, 2019 will see a familiar face grace the screen during this year’s Canadian broadcast.

Celebrity Jon Hamm joins SkipTheDishes for the brand’s first-ever Super Bowl commercial, which will air during the big game. The spot is the final entry in Skip’s ‘Entitled’ campaign alongside the well-known actor, and marks an unprecedented year of creative growth for the brand in Canada.

“Our new Super Bowl commercial is a prime example of Skip joining Canadians for their favourite moments” said Howard Migdal, Managing Director for the Canadian Market, SkipTheDishes. “We know that this campaign has struck a chord with Canadians. Whether they’re hungry and ordering in, or simply tuning in at home, we’re happy to be a part of their everyday experiences this Sunday and beyond.”

The spot is the final of the three-piece series featuring Hamm, and maintains the entitled, tongue-in-cheek approach seen in previous spots. This time, viewers are privy to the behind-the-scenes reality of Hamm’s would-be smart home. Previous entries in the series, such as ‘Ordinary Canadian Guy’, were launched to coincide with NHL puck-drop in 2018, and continue to air during NHL broadcasts in Canada.

The campaign was developed by national creative-agency Arrivals + Departures, with True Media Toronto for media planning and buying, and public relations support by North Strategic.

“It’s exciting for Skip to be represented with new creative on the biggest advertising day of the year,” said Mike Bevacqua, Partner, President at Arrivals + Departures, Toronto. “We’re thrilled with the success of this campaign and know that people will really enjoy this next spot.”
