Voting now open for Ireland’s Favourite Takeaway as Just Eat reveals shortlist of National Takeaway Awards nominees

Just Eat, Ireland’s leading online food ordering and delivery app, has announced the 74 shortlisted finalists in the Just Eat National Takeaway Awards, including nominees in three all-new categories, Best Takeaway Sustainability, Best Takeaway Vegan and Best Takeaway Breakfast.

Now in its sixth year, the awards celebrate the diversity and choice available in the sector from Pizza to Poké Bowls. Taking place in Dublin on the 21st of January 2020, the Just Eat National Takeaway Awards were developed to uncover the nation’s favourite takeaways; recognising the ongoing efforts of restaurants across Ireland delivering great tasting quality cuisine.

Over the past number of weeks, foodies from across Ireland have been putting their favourite local takeaways forward with thousands of votes cast under 25 delicious categories. Just Eat is now calling on the nation to help crown the winners, by voting on in support of their favourite shortlisted local takeaways before midnight 13th January.

If championing your favourite takeaway wasn’t enough of a reward, all customers that cast their vote will be in with the chance of winning takeaway for a year with thanks to Just Eat.

Best Takeaway Ireland and Best Takeaway Pizza Winners in 2018, Firehouse Pizza, Ballymun will be hoping to retain their title this year, as local fans have once again nominated the gourmet pizza chain for the coveted award.

Demonstrating conscious decision making in the areas of food production, packaging and energy, Burrito Loco, Letterkenny; Camile Thai, Phibsborough; Chopped, Baggot Street; San Sab, Drumcondra and Sprout on Baggot Street have all been shortlisted for the inaugural Best Takeaway Sustainability Award.

For customers taking part in Veganuary there are plenty of options available on Just Eat with those nominated under the all-new Vegan category including Camile Thai, Greystones and Zambrero, Hatch St, Dublin 2.

Commenting on the shortlist announcement, Amanda Roche-Kelly, Managing Director at Just Eat Ireland said:

The winners of the Just Eat National Takeaway Awards will be announced on Tuesday 21st January at an industry awards event in Number Twenty-Two, hosted by popular presenter Cassie Stokes.
